When Chelsea meets up with her estranged childhood best friend, Milla, she's unprepared for the events that follow. Milla, who is now a webcam girl briefly catches Chelsea on camera during one of her shows. Unbeknownst to her, Chelsea has now been exposed to a watcher who becomes obsessed and will stop at nothing to have her to himself. Under Mann’s new venture, Michael Mann Books, the prequel will begin as a novel, and possibly be adapted into a film or television series. Just two days after that announcement, another project from Michael Mann Books is in the works: author Don Winslow (Savages) is writing a novel about Chicago crime boss Tony Accardo and his successor Sam Giancana, which Mann might adapt into a feature film. The Luring is a psychological thriller about a man, Garrett, who tries to recover a lost memory that took place during his tenth birthday at his family's vacation home in Vermont. Unbeknownst to him, something unspeakable happened and as a result Garrett was found in a non-responsive state by his parents, which subsequently resulted in an extended stay in an institution.
